Be a successful Freelancer: Not difficult

- Take advantage of your network:

Once you decide to become your own boss – an official Freelancer, you should let other people surrounding you know about that because at this time it is your single biggest asset. Just update your full profile on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Google+,… listing down all your detail experience, every relevant jobs that you undertook, and every mosel about you that could be interesting. Let everybody know which field you will work on, what you can do for your clients,… because you know, your very first customer who trusts you must be one of your accquaitances. The best time to do this is 2 months before your official start.

And ofcourse, do not stop there, just create new relationships, expand your network, it will not be superabundant for your coming work.

- Practice Time Management skill:

Now you do not work under any supervisor except for yourself. You must be responsible for your choice. However, you may easily distracted by your roomates, parents (if you do not live alone), household chores and other errands. So you need to manage your time skillfully. And there is another solution for this problem, that is IBC Co-working sapce, a perfect fit for Freelancers. Quản lý thời gian là một kỹ năng cần có của Freelancer thành công

- Never forget to make a plan:

Never, ever, undervalue time taken to plan. Never. Your plan must consitst of what to do next, your finance resource, your goals… Sometimes your goals can be as simple as mailing a relevant contact in your field asking for advice, expanding network by X number of people, or just attending a meetup. However, all of those need to be written down, for you not to loose your direction, not to fall in the situation that you do not know what you should do. Most important, an effective plan will let you know about your actual ability, in oder not to receive the jobs that you can’t afford which may lead to bad consequences.

- Always make your clients happy:

Ofcourse you all know that “customer is king”, but IBC still wants to stress on its importance again, especially in the beginning stage – the belief building stage. You may start at “zero” but you need to land at very far away. Just make your customers believe in that by finishing your jobs much more exellently than they expected. Once they are satisfied with what you have done for them, they will engage you into their network, this can be seen as your first award on your way to success.

Freedom is always bartered by lots of effort. To become a Freelancer must be a very intersting challenge for everyone. IBC hope that throgh this copy, you could be more energetic to start your journey as a Freelancer.
